With a mere 10-minutes’ walk you reach the Montiggl woods. There you can ramble, jog, do nordic walking, cycle, ride a horse, swim, or play tennis on the highest level.
In the centre of town, at a 10 minutes’ walk, you find grocery stores, a butcher, a baker, and some wine cellars.
In about one hour you can walk to the new Messner Mountain Museum on Castle Sigmundskron.
We are happy to organise your wine tasting, cellar guided tours, BBQ or „Törggele“ evenings, or whatever you like.
Summer
Walk from the Sonnenhof to the little Montiggl lake in 45 minutes. There you can swim wonderfully. Or enjoy the big Montiggl lake with swimming pool. The Kalterer See nearby is the ideal spot for those who love water sports.
You won’t forget the many summer parties in Eppan and surroundings. In the great atmosphere and with a good glass of wine you can perfectly enjoy the warm summer nights.
Winter
... the traditional Martini market on 11-11 in the streets of Girlan makes the start
… Christmas market in Bozen and other towns nearby, such as Meran, Brixen, Sterzing.
Moreover Girlan is the ideal starting point for snow-shoe rambles, tobogganing and skiing.
In about 30-45 minutes you reach ski areas such as Sarntal, Ritten, Meran 2000, Mendel, Obereggen, and Jochgrimm.
